I guess I am getting too good at this game. I hesitate to move up to Heisman with Kent State, but I may have to.
It might be your offense type is easier to play. Try a downfield passing scheme where you rely on WRs and I think it is much harder.

I don't enjoy playing that way. I am handicapping myself doing that. I have never been able to pass the ball. I have to throw to an open guy. I just can't bring myself to throw into coverage. I tell myself that is how the game is played, but for the life of me I cannot pull the trigger. Usually I just hike the ball. Look for an open guy. If noone is open I throw it away. And when someone is open and I hit them, they usually drop the ball. I think I throw it too hard.

BTW, Wisconsin is number 1 right now. They beat Ohio State and Michigan so far. I don't think they play Penn State. Or did they beat Michigan and Penn State. They beat some good teams.

I got a few games in the last couple days. None of them were that good. I beat Central Michigan 38-0. We played a great game and held them to only 150 yards of total offense. The D has been great this year. I have pretty much man handled who ever we have played in the MAC.
We then had a BYE. It came at a really bad time. How you say? Well we had a soft verbal commit from a recruit and he wanted to visit. Well he could not visit on a Bye week, so he visited Louisville instead and decided to go there.
The we played at Ball State. They were undefeated when we played them. I thought that was pretty cool. But they were not ranked. I bet if they had beat us, they would have ended up ranked. The game started out really slow. Neither one of us could score. After 1 it is was still 0-0 and they were driving. They got a field goal and then I scored on the kickoff return. It was a 100 yard TD. My longest ever.
Then we went into half time 7-3. I came out in the second and scored on a long TD drive. They gave it back to me and I drove down the field and scored a field goal. I was up 17-3. By that time the 4th quarter was just starting. They went down the field and a 14 play drive. But couldn't score a TD. They kicked a field goal. It was the last time they saw the ball. I had one of the longest drives of my life. It took me 20 plays to get from the 20 to my 5 yard line. By that time there was hardly any time left. I missed a 4th down play, but they had 1:00 left and were down by 11. They tried to get down the field but threw and interception. I won 17-6. This game was frustrating because Ball State was doing something on defense I couldn't figure out. I think maybe they were running a zone blitz scheme. But McAfee could not get to the outside and James was not finding any holes. Then when I set-up to throw they had players in zones all over the place. Finally I just settled on turning out 3 yards a play with my back-up running back. He is very good at running up the middle. While James is a fast outside threat.
We then play at Miami (OH). While they had no problem scoring against us. They could not stop us. We scored 56 points. They scored 35. In the end it was the interception thrown on the first play of the game by the Miami (OH) QB. I took it back 50 yards for a score to make it 7-0. We then swapped scores until I scored at the end of the half to bring it to 35-28, then at the beginning of the third to bring it to 42-28. They then scored their last TD late in the third to make it 42-35, and I thought we had a chance to make this game one of the best of all-time, but I scored on my next two chances and they did not. All in all, my DT had a monster game. He had 7 sacks. It brought him from 3 to 10 in one game. That is pretty good.
McAffee had 310 yards passing and 3 TD. He also had 166 yards rushing and 2 TD's. James had 140 yards rushing.
The good news is. I moved to number 10 in the BCS. The bad news is I still haven't signed any prospects. Despite being 8-0, I just don't have the chops yet in recruiting.
Around the league, Wisconsin is still undefeated but fell out of the number 1 spot in the BCS when LSU took it over after beating Auburn.

Ok, finished three more games.
10: @ Bowling Green State University 11: @ Buffalo 12: @ #13 Texas A&M
@ Bowling Green was pretty good at first. IF you remember last year we had a classic game with them. This one was 14-14 after one. Then they went up 14-21. At that point I started to write down everything for a classic right up. But I must have figured them out or something because I tied it up in the 2nd. 21-21. Then they threw an interception. I went up 28-21. I scored at the end of the half to make it 35-21. I got the ball first to start the second half and I scored again to make it 42-21. They threw another interception and I went up 49-21.
After a little bit of a drive for them, I intercepted the ball again. I took some time and scored a field goal 52-21. That ended up being the final score.
@ Buffalo was a laugher. They scored on their first play from scrimage, on a 80 yard TD pass. After that, they didn't get a first down the rest of the game. The final scored ended up 55-7. I gained 600 yards on Offense. They gained 140.
@ Texas A&M was the game I had been waiting for all year. We were number 10 in the BCS. They were number 6. They had not lost yet. We were undefeated as well. This was the game of the week. It started out like a great game.
We went the first quarter sharing stops. We stopped them, they stopped us. Their defense was so fast, it wasn't funny. Their offensive line manhandled our D-line. And since I hate to blitz we weren't getting sacks or stops in the backfield.
About halfway through the second I was able to get a TD to make it 7-0. They then went 3 and out and punted it to me. But my punt returner (who has 5 TD's on the year) muffed a fair catch. They took over at the 10. Two plays later they scored to tie the game.
We went into half-time tied 7-7. I got the ball to start the second half(I usually do), I was able to get a TD. Then I held them and they punted. I didn't want to mess with the punt returner muffing again so I let it just hit the ground. It bounced to the 1. I was up 14-7. I had 99 yards in front of me and I was afraid that if I didn't do something quickly that I would punt back to them and give them good field position.
I called a five receiver set. It was stupid of me, backed up to do that, but I knew that my QB could out run any of their blitzes. I was right. They all out blitzed me. My QB had about 1.7 seconds to just throw the ball up for grabs. I threw it out to a covered player, the only one on the field covered, and low and behold for the first time ever a receiver made a tough catch for a 46 yard gain.
After that I was able to spread the field and run for a TD. We went up 21-7. I then got the ball back on an interception and was able to run the clock down in the third and into the 4th. We scored another TD to go up 28-7. They tried to run on me but every time they got close they would try to throw and my defense stopped it.
The final score was 28-7. We moved up to 6 in the BCS standings.
But we did have some bad news. We were in the top 5 schools for 10 recruits. 8 of them signed elsewhere. Only two stayed around. They haven't signed yet. They are visiting for the Akron game. I hope they like what they see. I plan on opening a can of WHIPASS on them. I am seriously going to run the score up as much as I can. I want to try to score 100 against them.
Outside, with Texas A&M losing, that leaves just UCLA and Wisconsin along with me as the lone Undefeated teams left. It is looking like I will get an invite to the Rose Bowl, because Wisconsin is going to be playing for a National Championship. They just beat UI 58-0.

I played the game. I did not score the 100 points I wanted.
I only scored 56 points. And the worst part about it, they scored 21!
I have some good news and some bad news from the game. After the game I found out that the #2,#4 and #5 team in the BCS lost that day. So that means Kent State (on a 26 game winning streak) has streaked up to number 3 in the BCS standings. What is even better, Texas (who is number 2) has to play in the Big 12 championship game. If they lose I could possibly move up to number 2 and play Wisconsin (who is done playing and sitting at number 1) for the National Title.
The bad news, I did not sign any recruits early. So I will go into the next recruiting faze without any good recruits to start. Oh well, it is just hard getting a good group while in a small school with little prestige.
The next game I play is the Mac Championship. I think I play Toledo again. I will probably play that tonight. Then I will know what happens to Texas and let you know if I will be playing for a National Title or if I will be playing in the Rose Bowl. Either way my school should get a boost in prestige.

I think they are playing Nebreska, and yes Nebreska has a great running back. They have lost 3 games this year.

Well Texas did not lose. So I am stuck playing USC.
NIU actually made a game out of it early on. They were able to score everytime we did until we got to 21-14. Then a couple things happened. One our QB got hurt. Then our starting running back got hurt. But not to worry. Our defense turned into some monster and we were able to hold them at 14. We scored 2 more times to make it 35-14. That was the final score.
So now we are on our way to the Rose Bowl to play USC. This should get us some national coverage. Maybe we get an extra recruit or something out of it.
