In an outstanding mound performance, George Baker of the Nazareth Puzzle Pieces scuttled the Lenior City Corn Squeezers 2-0 on a 4-hit shutout, ringing up 6 strikeouts and giving up 3 walks.
"He's got great stuff and good movement," the Lenior City manager said after the game.
"He threw a lot of breaking balls. He made adjustments. We just couldn't figure him out today."

Mike Wilson dominated the day, pitching shutout ball against the Puzzle Pieces and holding them to 4 hits. He fanned 0 and walked 1 in spinning his 8-0 win.
"I can't take all the credit for this one," Wilson said. "I had some great defense behind me."
So far this season, Wilson has logged a 3-1 record with a 2.17 ERA. He has started 5 games, hurled 37.1 innings and registered 9 strikeouts and 13 walks. |
 | Friday, April 14th, 2023: Nazareth's White Will Miss Season
The season is apparently over for Martin White. The Nazareth Puzzle Pieces medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 7 months with a torn bicep muscle. White was hurt in the game against Reykjavik while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
