Today at Ions Ballpark Elwood Demello baffled Duluth batters on 2 hits en route to a 2-0 shutout.
"He was able to keep hitters off balance and got the ball down," said the Red Squirrels skipper about his starter's performance.
Demello had 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in the game.
In 2021 Demello has delivered 0 saves in 6 relief appearances. He has 81 strikeouts in 136 innings with a 3.84 ERA and a 10-4 mark.

Ed Little must have thought he died and went to heaven this week. First he went on a remarkable batting rampage, hammering the ball at a .538 clip, then the Duluth center fielder finds outs he has been voted the league's top performer and gets the SL2 Player of the Week Award.
For the week Little batted .538 (14-26) with 1 home run and 6 RBIs.
Thus far this season in 90 games Little is batting .330 with 2 home runs, 45 RBIs and 55 runs scored. He has 106 hits in 321 at-bats.

 | Thursday, July 22nd, 2021: McClendon Fires Shutout in Dreadnoughts Victory
The Oglethorpe Thudpuckers met their match today in Duluth hurler Steven McClendon. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 5-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," the Oglethorpe skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow."
In the 9-0 victory McClendon whiffed 8 and gave up 1 walk.
Checking out his stats for the season, McClendon has notched 6 wins and 12 losses in 22 starts, 5.96 ERA and struck out 68 batters in 136 innings.
