Damon Fowler of the Laurens Lemurs proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award.
Fowler hit for a .435 average while collecting 94 hits, 15 doubles, no triples, 6 home runs, 40 RBIs and scoring 38 times.

 | Sunday, September 11th, 2022: Best Hurler Award Presented by SL1
The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2022 has been presented and the Sub League 1 winner is Cristo Rodríguez of Laurens.
"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Rodríguez. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Lemurs star told reporters.
Rodríguez excelled with an impressive 9-0 record in 12 starts. In 83.2 innings he yielded 56 hits and 29 walks, while striking out 88 and compiling a fine 1.94 ERA.

Paulino Barragan of the Laurens Lemurs had an outstanding week and today was voted the Player of the Week by the Sub League 1.
For the week the 26-year-old left fielder batted .476 (10-21) with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs.
For 2022 Barragan is hitting .293 with 14 home runs. His stats include 37 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
