The Hartford Underdogs posted a 2-0 shutout over Ocean City today on the strength of a strong performance by Valerio Guilherme. The Underdogs pitcher held the Longhorns to 3 hits while walking 0 and fanning 7 in the route-going win.

 | Sunday, April 16th, 2023: Matsuo 5-5 for Longhorns
Takamasa Matsuo put on a hitting clinic today as the Longhorns dumped the Harvesters 9-2 at Chuggers Ballpark. The Ocean City left fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Ortonville pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game.
He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."
T. Matsuo singled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
In 14 games this season Matsuo has compiled a .296 batting average with 16 hits and no home runs. He has also scored 8 times and knocked in 4 runs.
