| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 1st, 2026: Super Month Nets Higgins #1 Batter Prize in HL
Sang Higgins of the Beermen hit .407 in May with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 17 runs scored to capture a majority of votes for the Heinsohn League Batter of the Month trophy.
The 32-year-old is in the last year of his contract and will undoubtedly use these numbers to try and bring in a huge pay raise.
This season Higgins is swinging the bat at a .345 pace. He has hit 10 home runs and scored 32 times, while driving in 38. His on-base percentage is .375 and he has played in 52 games.

 | Sunday, May 31st, 2026: De La Cruz Will Miss 2 Weeks
After injuring himself, Beermen starting pitcher António De La Cruz headed straight to the hospital. He was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch and the team's worst fears were confirmed when it turned out to be a little more serious. De La Cruz will miss at least 2 weeks with a tight labrum muscle.
To date in 2026, De La Cruz has registered 11 starts, 4-5 won-lost mark, 2.51 ERA, 86 IP, 69 strikeouts and 16 walks. Opposing teams have hit .210 against him.

 | Saturday, May 23rd, 2026: Hoffman Sidelined for 1-2 Weeks
Medical officials from the Minneapolis Beermen reported that the club's 28-year-old left fielder, Gerald Hoffman, suffered a gashed cheek in yesterday's matchup against the Sioux Falls Cereal Killers while being hit by a pitch. Hoffman is expected to miss 1-2 weeks of action.
This season in 39 games Hoffman is batting .230 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and has scored 27 times.
