It was a good day all around. Stockholm whipped New Jersey 12-4 and Brian Wren displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Ikea Gardens.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Brian is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
The 28-year-old catcher for the Royal Squirrels of Sweden collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.

It was a great day for him at The Armory at Central Park, but not a good day for his team. Sterling Tamblyn of the Empire was unstoppable in today's 9-6 loss to the New Jersey Nighthawks.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," the New York right fielder said after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will. Losing the game is disappointing, but my hits at least gave us a chance."
S. Tamblyn singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off S. Devera in the 9th.
