The Heinsohn League Super Newbie has been given to Matt Lagerveld of the Brooklyn Atlantics.
In the 2021 season the 23-year-old third baseman played in 151 games, recording a .297 batting average with 20 home runs, 57 RBIs and 73 runs scored.

Atlantics officials have acknowledged that reliever Santiago Lugo will be out for 8 months with a herniated disc. The injury occurred while throwing his dog a frisbee.
So far in the 2021 campaign Lugo has delivered 4 saves. In 41 relief appearances he has 46 strikeouts in 46.1 innings with a 2.53 ERA and 7 wins and 1 loss.

"That was one of my best outings," said James Ridinger. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."
It was an impressive start for the Atlantics hurler. He blanked the Kornholes 3-0 on a strong 2-hitter while ringing up 4 strikeouts and doling out 2 walks.
To date in 2021, Ridinger has registered 32 starts, 17-10 won-lost mark, 2.70 ERA, 263.2 IP, 167 strikeouts and 65 walks. Opposing teams have hit .240 against him.
