| Breaking News | | Thursday, September 23rd, 2021: Ridinger Dominates DeKalb "That was one of my best outings," said James Ridinger. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."
It was an impressive start for the Atlantics hurler. He blanked the Kornholes 3-0 on a strong 2-hitter while ringing up 4 strikeouts and doling out 2 walks.
To date in 2021, Ridinger has registered 32 starts, 17-10 won-lost mark, 2.70 ERA, 263.2 IP, 167 strikeouts and 65 walks. Opposing teams have hit .240 against him. | | Friday, September 17th, 2021: Wright Shuts Out DeKalb In a knockout performance, Bill Wright beat the Kornholes 9-0 with an impressive 6-hit shutout.
The Biscuits hurler finished with 5 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
Wright told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."
The Kornholes manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."
So far this season Wright has compiled a 17-6 record with a 2.77 ERA. | | Saturday, September 4th, 2021: Madera Reaches 2000 It was a great day for Charles Madera of the DeKalb Kornholes -- but not a perfect day. He became the latest player to reach the 2000-hit mark, but his team lost the game. The 33-year-old right fielder got his historic hit in DeKalb's 5-2 loss to London.
"It was a very special game for me, but not a good one for the team," said Madera after the game. Commenting on his achievement to reporters, he told them, "2000 hits are a lot. It puts you in a very select group. You have to hit well over a lot of seasons to do this. It's a good feeling to have your name in the record books with the other guys who have reached this level."
He finished the day with 2 hits in 5 at-bats.
During his career Madera has notched 2001 hits and a .281 average with 227 home runs and 1010 RBIs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 84-78, .519 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 4.0 GB | | Record at home | 40-41, .494 PCT | | Record on the road | 44-37, .543 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-7, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 19-16, .543 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 19-14, .576 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 65-64, .504 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 13-11, .542 PCT | | Record in May | 18-11, .621 PCT | | Record in June | 14-11, .560 PCT | | Record in July | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in August | 16-12, .571 PCT | | Record in September | 10-17, .370 PCT |
