Team officials were upbeat today as Oscar Warren signed an extension with the Cereal Killers. He'll be calling Sioux Falls home for the next 2 years and will earn $22,010,000 in salary by the end of the contract.
This season Warren has compiled a 17-7 mark with a 2.64 ERA.

 | Saturday, September 18th, 2021: Bad News for Cereal Killers, Hibbert Injured
It took the Sioux Falls team doctor a while to realize it, but shortstop Daniel Hibbert won't simply play through a fractured ankle after he got hurt making a defensive play in today's Strom Thurmonds-Cereal Killers game. At first, it looked like Hibbert might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 7-8 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Hibbert as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
So far in 2021 Hibbert is hitting .206 with 18 home runs, 70 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He has 84 hits and played in 135 games.

It appears to be only a rumor, but earlier today, fans around Sioux Falls were buzzing with the news that their 34-year old starting pitcher Lazaro Santiago had been asking for a trade. "I couldn't imagine him saying bad things about Sioux Falls or wanting to leave." said one person.
