This year the Bakersfield Bull Sharks shed tears of joy and the AdventuresOfBradAndJordan.Com Bloggers shed some sad ones, all because of a baseball game.
The Bull Sharks eliminated the Bloggers today 10-2 at Field of the Bull Sharks and locked up their 1st OTBA Short Season A Round 3 championship, winning the series 4-3.
The Bull Sharks finished the regular season in the Sub League 1 Division 1 with a 28-26 record, ending up in second place in the division standings. |  | Wednesday, August 24th, 2022: 5-Hit Game for Caldicott Jon Caldicott was on fire today and sparked his club to a 16-1 victory over the Bull Sharks. The AdventuresOfBradAndJordan.Com left fielder was a tough out and went 5 for 5 against Bakersfield in a fine hitting display.
"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody... and some days they fall in."
J. Caldicott singled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 9th.
This season Caldicott is swinging the bat at a .282 rate with 62 hits in 220 at-bats. To date he has hit 1 home run, scored 33 runs and driven in 18. |  | Tuesday, August 16th, 2022: Trujillo Raps Bakersfield for 5 Hits Oil Palms center fielder,Cipriano Trujillo, had his way with Bakersfield pitching today at Onslaught Ballpark and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it was all in vain. The Bull Sharks ruined his great day by outscoring the Oil Palms 9-7.
He told reporters after the game, "I had a great day, but you got to give Bakersfield credit, they did what they had to do to win the game. They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits after all is said and done. They did what they had to do -- win the game."
The Bull Sharks skipper added, "Oh, I think we noticed what Trujillo did today. He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
C. Trujillo hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off J. Owens in the 9th.
