The CL's Best Player: Ash Turner
Friday, October 1st, 2088
He's only 23 years old, but Ash Turner of the Port Jefferson Station Mayhem has clearly established himself as a star of OTBA Triple A.

His status grew today as the ace pitcher was named the winner of the 2088 Circus League Outstanding Hitter Award.

"I just want to pitch well and win games," he said. "The awards are nice though."

Turner's award-winning season saw him put up a 15-4 record through 25 starts, throwing 153.1 innings. He had 204 strikeouts with 81 walks and a 2.00 ERA. Opponents hit only .158 against him during the season.

He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 20. Jack MacCause of the York Lookouts finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Arinori Yamamoto of the Rochester Riverrats finished third with 3 first place votes.

Jackson Selected 2088 BL Outstanding Hitter Award
Friday, October 1st, 2088
Ray Jackson has visions of big money next year. And why shouldn't he? He did everything Maryland asked of him in 2088 and even exceeded the expectations of some in the final year of his contract. He might or might not re-sign with Maryland, but he's certainly earned the right to demand a big deal by wrapping up the Butterball League's Outstanding Hitter Award today.

He clobbered the opposition with 126 hits, 15 doubles, 2 triples, 54 home runs and 113 RBI, while hitting .311 and scoring 91 runs.

He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Bobby Doyle of the Maryland Crab Cakes finished second in voting, while Eugene Gordon of the Hong Kong Kumite finished third.
